Happy Birthday To Me
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! Sam and Nic, my co-workers, gave me a great gift of the "four food groups" - chocolate, root beer, terra chips and whiskey. Do they know me or what? PLUS a Steelers balloon!! Right on. I also got an adorable bouquet - but I don't know from who!! Someone please own up!

Aloha!
Brian got a very good birthday present this year - tickets to see Jimmy Buffett in Waikiki! We had such a great time. The highlights:
Thursday night: The concert was a blast. We got a lot of compliments on our headwear:
Friday: Our favorite activity is snorkeling. We took the bus to Hanuama Bay, where we got some great snorkeling in. My favorite sight was a big, fat, heaving sea cucumber.
Saturday: We took a catamaran (the Kai Ole' Ole') from the Ko'Olina resort about an hour out, where we snorkeled again. The high point by far was seeing a giant turtle. The water was ultra blue and the fish were beautiful - it has to be what heaven is like. Then on the way back a school of dolphins raced our boat. Some jumped out of the water and spun - they are such hams.
Sunday: I was terrified but agreed to take a surfing lesson. Well now I am obsessed! I can't wait to do it again! It was so much fun and we had the best instructors. Ron, on the right, is exactly how you'd imagine a surf instructor should be. On my Amazon wish list: a wetsuit!
Sunday night: We had a late night flight so we were able to have a great dinner Sunday before we left. We dined at Alan Wong's, which was named in the paper that same day as Hawaii's best restaurant (for the 7th year in a row)! Brian was intrigued by the cauliflower because it was purple (you can also spot an orange piece on the plate).
Happy birthday to us!
